School Meals
From 2nd June, Dolce will be the new supplier of school dinners for The Federation of Trosnant Schools.
The cost of a school dinner will be £3.00 per day (£15.00 per week).
SchoolGrid Account
All parents must register their child to be able to receive school meals.
You will then receive an email from SchoolGrid, Dolce’s software provider, with all of your necessary login details. By accessing SchoolGrid online you will be able to pre-order meals, view recipes, allergens, ingredients and make payments.
All meals must be pre ordered (by 9.30am on the day required – please consider this if your child will be late into school).
Please note that any meals ordered, but not required (i.e. due to absence or packed lunch provided from home) will need to be cancelled by 9.30am on the day, after this they will still be charged, even if the meal is not taken.
Allergies
If you are having difficulties ticking the allergen information you need, please contact Dolce Customer Care and they will happily make arrangements to accommodate your child’s individual needs.
Payments
Direct Debit – This will be collected from your account on or around the 1st or the 15th of each month and will work in arrears for the meals you have taken the month before. To set this up please access your SchoolGrid account – [account] – [direct debit]
You will receive a statement two weeks before a payment is due stating the amount and the date the payment will be taken. We cannot set up Direct Debits over the phone.
If you prefer not to pay by Direct debit we ask that all accounts are kept in credit. You can top your account up by:
Online Card Payment – A card payment can be made online through your SchoolGrid account, please log on and select [Account] – [Pay by card] where on screen prompts will assist in taking payment.
Telephone Card Payment – Dolce Customer Care team is available 8.00 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday to take a card payment for your account on 01942 707709. The minimum payment amount we can accept over the phone is £10.
Free Meals
From September 2014, all Infant children became eligible for Universal Free School Meals, giving them all access to a hot and healthy meal every day. At Trosnant we are working hard to ensure that our children are making the most of this great opportunity and we would encourage all our parents to do the same. We believe that the hot school dinner option is much better for the children’s learning and health. We recognise the evidence that states
· Children are better prepared for learning if they eat well
· Children make more progress if they have eaten the right nutritional lunch
· Only 1% of packed lunches provide the correct nutrition
· Eating hot dinners is an important social occasion and the children learn vital social skills.
If your child is in Reception / KS1 the entitlement to Universal Free School Meals will automatically be set up on your account as free, all the other features can be used as normal. You must still register for a SchoolGrid account so that dinners can be ordered.
If your child is in KS2, you may still be entitled to Free School Meals so please complete the form on the link to find out if you are eligible https://www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/freeschoolmeals.The school will automatically be informed if you are eligible.
