Headteacher’s Welcome

Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to the Trosnant Federation!

Trosnant Infant and Junior Schools are thriving and popular schools, providing high quality primary education for all children and their families at the heart of the community in the Leigh Park area of Havant. This all begins with our excellent early years provision.

At Trosnant, our federation’s values are based on a positive ‘Growth-Mindset’ approach to life and learning. This means that we:

* Encourage children to go for goals

* Promote the importance of resilience

* Offer wide ranging opportunities through our Curriculum

* Develop a strong sense of working together

This is all underpinned by a culture of mutual respect.

This is captured by our Values Tree:

As children progress through the schools, we build strong links with our local secondary schools, which ensures effective transition when the time comes for our children to move on to the next stage of their education.

We also benefit from having an independent local Nursery on our site, working in close partnership with them to ensure a successful and happy transition for those children joining our infant school from the beginning.

We are proud of our school, it’s evolving, exciting and engaging curriculum, effective and engaging teaching, our focus on core skills and the offer of a wide range of unique opportunities.

The staff and governors have high expectations for our children ensuring everyone can achieve their best, within a caring, nurturing and inclusive environment, which recognises the individuality of each child.

Our schools have a wide range of well qualified staff, which includes:

  • Executive Deputy Headteacher, responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of both our schools, and provision for our Higher Achieving Pupils
  • Assistant Headteacher responsible for Teaching and Learning, and Inclusion, who is also our Special Needs Co-ordinator
  • Designated Safeguarding Leads and Online Safety Lead
  • Family Support Team
  • Emotional Literacy Support Assistants, Thrive and Nurture Practitioners
  • Sports Co-ordinator
  • Forest School Practitioners
  • Mental Health and Well-Being Leads
  • Governing Board, that works with our leaders to strategically oversee the work of the schools

all of whom work alongside the classroom and administrative staff to ensure the needs of all our children are well met.

We also commission services to provide our federation with mental health support and counselling, educational psychology and speech therapy.

We have a long history as schools who care for the ‘whole child ‘and their families. We provide an early bird breakfast club for working parents, morning bagels for any child who needs it to start their day well, and a range of after school clubs. We provide after school care in partnership with Tops Nursery and Barncroft Primary School.

I hope this website gives a good insight into our schools, and provides you with plenty of useful information. However, if you are considering choosing our schools for your children, or have been given a place here, please contact us if you require further information, have any queries or questions, or would like to arrange to visit us. We look forward to welcoming you and your children.
