Parents

Here at the Federation of Trosnant Schools we believe that parents are partners in their child's education.  Creating a love of learning and an appreciation of its importance is the central idea behind family learning.  Storytelling Club is a great example of giving our parents the opportunity to start the day reading a good book with their child before the school day gets under way.

School dates for the 2017/18 academic year can be viewed here.

Inset days have now been agreed for the new academic year and they are:

  • September 4th 2017
  • September 15th 2017
  • December 21st 2017
  • February 19th 2018
  • July 23rd 2018

Should we have to close the school due to adverse weather conditions, we will always inform our parents as quickly as possible, along with notifying Hampshire CC who will update their school closures.  You can check on any changes by following this link to Hampshire CC.

If you require a 2nd copy of school communications, please contact the school office to discuss your requirements. Please ensure that all contact details are kept up to date by informing the school office of any changes.  All letters are also regularly posted on this website.  Please also contact the school office should you require any paper copies of the website or the contact contained therein.

All uniform needs to be ordered online direct with Brigade.  We hold sample sizes in the school office that you are welcome to use as a guide for ordering. All details for ordering uniform can be seen here.

Our school has been chosen by Hampshire County Council for a major expansion within the next 2 years which will see us grow to a 3 form entry across all 7 year groups. Work began on the Children's Centre in June 2017 and contractors will be on site for some time. We will keep you updated on the progress.

MIND

Trosnant School is working with Havant and East Hants Mind & their partner Communitas, to deliver a whole schools approach to improving mental health within the school community. This involves working with the children as they begin school and follows them right through into secondary schools (the project is also working with secondary schools in the area). We believe that everyone has a role in promoting good mental and emotional health. By upskilling our children and the adults they come into contact they will be better able to support each other, and their peers, to remain resilient in times of stress and know where and how to seek additional help early if required.

The project has the support and involvement of Trosnant Staff and Governors as well as Danielle Barnes from Mind & Barney Barron from Communitas who are based in the school at least 1 day every week.

For more information about the project or, if you would like to be involved or offer your support please contact Denise Stephens at Trosnant School on 02392 475 606 or Havant and East Hants Mind on 02392 498 916.
