Parents

Here at the Federation of Trosnant Schools we believe that parents are partners in their child’s education.  Creating a love of learning and an appreciation of its importance is the central idea behind family learning.  Storytelling Club is a great example of giving our parents the opportunity to start the day reading a good book with their child before the school day gets under way.

School dates for the 2023/24 academic year can be viewed here.

Inset days agreed for the new academic year:

  • 1st September 2023
  • 4th September 2023
  • 20th November 2023

Should we have to close the school due to adverse weather conditions, we will always inform our parents as quickly as possible, along with notifying Hampshire CC who will update their school closures.  You can check on any changes by following this link to Hampshire CC.

If you require a 2nd copy of school communications, please contact the school office to discuss your requirements. Please ensure that all contact details are kept up to date by informing the school office of any changes.  All letters are also regularly posted on this website.  Please also contact the school office should you require any paper copies of the website or the contact contained therein.

School branded uniform can be ordered online with Brigade or purchased from Skoolkit in their shop in Havant or online here.  We hold sample sizes in the school office that you are welcome to use as a guide for ordering. We also have a range of good quality, second hand uniform items available to purchase from the school office at just 50p per item.

It is not essential to wear uniform items with the school badge displayed and as such you could also purchase items from the school uniform departments of any shop or supermarket.

New Year R children starting school in September 2023

For all those children that are starting school with us in Year R in September 2023, we hope that you have all returned your registration forms and any other necessary paperwork. It is your legal duty to complete all of the necessary paperwork before your child commences school with us.

All Infant school children are entitled to free school meals, so please encourage your child to choose from one of our 3 options daily once they are staying for lunch. If your child has a diagnosed allergy you will need to register that allergy with HC3S before we can feed them, if you need help doing that please come and see one of our office team.

MIND

Trosnant School is working with Havant and East Hants Mind & their partner Communitas, to deliver a whole schools approach to improving mental health within the school community. This involves working with the children as they begin school and follows them right through into secondary schools (the project is also working with secondary schools in the area). We believe that everyone has a role in promoting good mental and emotional health. By upskilling our children and the adults they come into contact they will be better able to support each other, and their peers, to remain resilient in times of stress and know where and how to seek additional help early if required.

The project has the support and involvement of Trosnant Staff and Governors as well as Danielle Barnes from Mind & Barney Barron from Communitas who are based in the school at least 1 day every week.

For more information about the project or, if you would like to be involved or offer your support please contact our Family Support Team at Trosnant School on 02392 475 606 or Havant and East Hants Mind on 02392 498 916.
